Hey all, would really appreciate any input you have on this.

Pulled these from some other specs offered but am missing a mobo, RAM and CPU cooler I think.

I've got a 19" Hyundai N91W Widescreen monitor, a Samsung Spinpoint T 501LJ 500 Gig SATA II HD, decent mouse and keyboard.

Looking for some overclocking potential and enough RAM (2 Gig to start) to multitask to my hearts content. Will be a gaming rig as well so chose the 8800 for the DirectX 10 future compatibility and because lots of people seem to be rating it highly.

Hoping to spend under £700 all in and thats the Exc VAT price.

Look forward to hearing your ideas :D

Noctua NH-U12F + Geil Ultra PC6400 2Gb + DS3P :) can't beat this combination tbh.

Yes you can :p Crucial Ballistix 5300 clocks much better than the geil for only bout an extra tenner. :)

change the BFG 8800GTS for the OCUK one. Should save you 30 quid and won't show a noticable performance drop (and should overclock about the same as well).

p4radox's one looks pretty good, not sure the HR-03 is really necessary though - at least initially. I also like the lifetime warranty on the BFG video card, but I guess if you'll be ripping the stock cooler off it'll be voided anyway. ;)

Awesome, thanks for the help.

p4radox: Anything against the case I chose? I'm hearing good things other than the tightness for space?

Space is an issue. It's also a bit plasticky, and has too may fans for my liking.

There's nothing that 2 120mm fans can't cooler well enough, all those fans on the 900 are bound to be really noisy. :)

mine doesnt make a noise ... looks awsome and keeps your hardware extremely cool, i wouldnt trade my antec 900 for anything in its price range.

p4radox spec is brilliant - I recommend the PC7 as well (I have one too) and they are just amazing when stacked up against anything else in the price range, but it's your call - you're the one whose going to have to stare at it everyday :) So get something you think looks nice - at the end of the day, anything you buy is still going to hold you bits together :)

Thanks for all the input.

Two questions left and I'm done, promise :p

The 8800 page recommends a 600W PSU but the 620W one I suggested was changed to the 520W equivalent but same make. Was this a pricing decision or is it that it really doesn't need it? Does it make sense for the future to spend the extra £30 to make it that bit more future proof or are there other PSUs that you guys would recommend instead?

Last question, are there any leads / thermal paste etc requirements I'll need to get along with the kit? Don't want to get all the components together then find the graphics card is missing a DVI cable or something.

thanks :D

The 600W recommendation assumes crappy no name brand PSUs. I'm running a GTX and the rest of the stuff in my sig off the 520W one with no problems at all.

Everything should be included, except maybe the DVI cable, if you'll be needing one.
