just wanting peoples opinions on a good graphics card upgrade, i currently have a geforce 210 but want to start to do bit of gaming counter strike, watchdogs, cod etc cheers

Do you have a budget in mind?

couple of cheaper options below:

YOUR BASKET
1 x MSI Radeon R9 270X Gaming Edition OC 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £155.99
1 x Gigabyte Radeon R9 270 OC 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £129.95
Total : £295.54 (includes shipping : £8.00).

wouldnt be looking to pay that much, would be looking something cheap and cheerful as im not that big into gaming just yet lol , just something that would play these games as my 210 isnt up to scratch lol

What is your budget, what power supply do you have, what motherboard do you have and what CPU do you have?

Motherboard and CPU should be identifiable by downloading CPU-Z and looking at the tabs whilst it's running, power supply you would need to take the side of the case off to identify.

You can get a 750 for 100 odd, though a game like watchdogs is apparently quite demanding. The 750 should have no problem with cod and counter strike.

is the 750 manufactured by nvidia? will look into getting one of them, at the moment upgrading mobo, cpu etc has fleeced me lol

I wouldn't recommend going any lower than an AMD R7 260X or an Nvidia GT 750 (with the 260X giving marginally better performance and having twice the vRAM).

If you go below those, you really start to get negative returns on your saving (i.e. an AMD R7 250X is 78% the cost of a 260X, but only gives 67% the performance).

I wouldn't recommend going for an Nvidia GTX 750 Ti (unless you have to for power reasons, since it has very low power consumption) just because of its price. You can get an AMD R9 270 for only £10 more than the cheapest GTX 750 Ti, and the R9 270 is a good 25% faster.

Also worth noting you get 2 free games from AMD (see link: http://sites.amd.com/us/promo/never-settle/Pages/nsreloadedforever.aspx) with the R7 260X or R9 270, whereas you only get some in-game currency for a couple of free-to-play games with the Nvidia cards in that price range. So if you were going to buy any of the games off AMD's list, it effectively makes the card cheaper.

Hope that helps :)

Watchdogs is quite a demanding game so your not really looking at cheap and cheerful. Based on watching it being played on a 750 it struggled a wee bit.

+1.

The R7 265 is a solid chunk faster than the 750TI for the same money, the R9 270 is faster again for £10 More.

Sapphire Radeon R7 265 Dual-X 2048MB £110

MSI Radeon R9 270 Gaming Edition OC 2048MB £120

R7 265 vs 750TI

R9 270X vs 750TI

The R9 270 is by far the fastest card in its price range, the only cards that are faster are the GTX 760 and R9 280, they start at £180.

I'd go for at least a 760 or a r9 280. But you want to be conservative with your settings in watchdogs. The other games you mention should be more than fine at decent settings.

What monitor do you have?

Alternatively, you can just right mouse click on your desktop and check out the resolution from there.

i only have a 19" dell widescreen monitor will be upgrading it soon to 22"-26" when the cash flow free up abit
