Hey guys, was hoping you could recommend me some good gaming headphones with a mic.

They don't have to be amazing, just something with ok sound quality and a mic.

There seem to be a few around the 15-20 quid range. What would be the best pair out of these 4? The plantronics seem to get really good reviews.

At that sort of price range really theres not a lot in it, any of them would be good but don't expect brilliant sound no matter what the reviews say, you will get quality in correspondence with how much you are paying.

I would therefore look at comfort, do you prefer the ear pieces resting on your head or the ear?

I would personally go for the creative as it looks lighter and for me (prefer more on the ear headsets) the more comfy but a friend of mine has that plantronics set and he swears by it, it is quite comfy and for the price I cant fault the sound.

Cheers mate, sounds like the Plantronics are definitely the ones to go for. I'm not an audiophile, just want something with OK sound and a mic.

Considering that I will be upgrading from some cheap panasonic inner earphones lol they won't need to be amazing to impress me.

Thanks for the advice.

i recommend anything made by Tritton. Superb cans :D

although the 5.1 headset does require a 5.1 sound card or sound chip i believe.

i bought the Gamecom 367, dont really game, just use it for music :D
but when i tried to game with it, the people on the other side can barely hear me, i have to shout most of the time as the mic doesnt quite reach your mouth.
im no expert with sound quality but for £15(when i bought it) i think its a good headset.

Just thought I would update this thread. I went for the Plantronics GameCom 367 in the end and I am REALLY impressed! Awesome bass once you adjust the equalizer in Windows 7.

They sounded a bit rubbish to be honest once I put them on initially, but the Windows 7 equalizer and Dolby natural bass enhancer really perked things up! They have very tight, punchy bass now!

The mic on the GameCom 367s is incredibly low, that's their biggest problem.

Also, if you aren't careful, it's very easy to snap the frame. I've went through 2 pairs of them within less than a year before I came to my senses and bought a decent headphones.

I got the Steelseries Siberia V2 about 6 months ago and they still look and sound like they are brand new. Couldn't have been happier with them.
