Gaming headset for a present

I'm looking to get a gaming headset for my brother for xmas. Is there anything decent around the £50 mark? and is there a big difference between ones that have their own soundcard (usb) and analogue ones.

I would normally suggest HyperX Cloud, but I've seen some negative comments about the microphone. Another member has sent his microphone back in the hope it's faulty, rather than just poor quality. Real shame, as the headphone part is very good.

Not sure whether you'll get many comments on those you have linked. Quite a few people are moving over to headphones because these cheap plastic gimmicky headsets just break after a while. I'm not a fan of them either, so it's hard to recommend something I wouldn't be prepared to buy myself.

Might be best to look at the user reviews and choose the ones with good comments and the least negative ones.

As for your question; those which are USB will likely have some kind of surround sound effect feature. Analogue connection ones will just be stereo and would be a better choice for use with a sound card.
