Hi guys,

I'm looking to pick myself up a new headset after hoovering the wire up of the old one (please don't ask). I've been looking at the Sennheiser PC 111 Headset, which is one of these Skype single ear headsets and I can pick up for around £10. I am wondering if these single ear types are any good as they do seem like a nice change.

Has anyone any suggestions on any other headset for that sort of price, or actually use one of these single ear headsets to game?

Cheers.

the cheap skype ones are fine for you imo.

I think I'll give them a go as they look very nice, I don't require 5.1 surround sound for LoTRO or any other MMO, they're a solid brand, decently priced and hopefully I won't get sore ears if I'm playing for long periods as I can swap ears :).

We shall see, cheers.

i got the plantronics single ear one and they are nice
the sennheiser ones were not comfortable enough for me, but you can "mod" the connector they come with and put any 2.5" handsfree from a mobile phone (by modding i mean cutting the plastic)

tbh, ive been using an xbox 360 headset and its grand :D Sound is a bit funny sometimes, as its only 16bit i think >.> But im usually on skype with it so that makes me put ingame sounds a lot lower.

i 100% recommend the creative fatality (is that right?) headset. it is a bargain on ocuk . i brought mine for £30 and now its even cheaper. http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=SP-091-CL

very good sound and microphone quality is top notch. i can hear everything perfectly and the bass is very good. i dont think id change these headphones for anything else and when paired with a decent 2.1 speakers . it makes for a good gaming setup whether you want to where headphones or use speakers.

have a look at the reviews and make the purchase. it will probably be the best youve made for a long time :)

I dont think he really needs a 'gaming headset', just something to hear audio in one ear. So for his purpose his initial choice will do I would have thought.

id personally cough up extra cash and get the medusa gamer 5.1 headset. *** positional sound (if u have a 5.1 scard ofc) and mic is top quality....but thats just me

even if he wanted a gaming headset, which he doesnt, he'd do well to steer clear of the medusa headsets.

for your price range you might as well get the cheapest one from a reputable brand

Buy some good quality sennheiser's, then get a cheap desk mic. Much better audio quality for the price.
