Gaming Headset with mic

Hey guys

Going to be purchasing a new gaming headset with mic in the coming weeks and i am looking some suggestions from ppl in the know.

Would be willing to stretch to £100s if the headset is really worth it however i am open to suggestions for cheaper options!

What yas think?
 
What is you're needs ?

Open back - Will let sound in but it gives a more natural sound.
Closed back - No sound leakage, usually better bass due to the closed nature of the headset.
Stereo or surround 5.1 ?
USB or sound card driven ?

There is a bit to look up as not every headphone sounds the same & also look for review to see how they perform over hours of gaming as there is nothing worse than clamping on the ears/head.

The ones people seem to recommend is the HyperX Cloud II or for a £10 cheaper the Cloud 1's.

Would recommend the Hyper X Cloud II's as well. Been using mine for over a week now and finding them super comfortable with good sound.

Not as bass heavy as some reviews lead me to expect but a good balance all round IMO.

Also my friends have commented on the improvement in mic quality from my old headset.

Kudos to Hyper X for packaging them in the highest quality way too, feel's like a really premium product.
 
Would say Hyper X Cloud II as well if it has to be a headset. Would i would recommend though is Creative's Aurvana Live 2 and a Antlion Modmic 4.0. Better sound and better microphone for around 100 pounds when the Aurvana's are on sale. Got my Live 2s for 50 quid which is dirt cheap.
 
Had a pair of SteelSeries White Siberia V1's for ~6years before recently getting a pair of Black V2's. I have no qualms at all, they perform brilliantly; I've already been called a hacker a number of times in CS:GO and I've only just started playing it :p (also getting called a smurf haha)
