I’m after a new headset to be used 100% for gaming I only has 3 musts

1. No more than £30 would go to £50 incl post if needed for quality
2."Can" style
3. Must have a MIC

Ok, if you're willing to forgo the "Can" style, I'd suggest you have a look at the Plantronics GameCon Pro 1 headset. I've been using one for yonks. :)

People are going to tell you to go for some sort of Stereo headphones, but the Medusa 5.1 surround sound ones are the best for gaming. Stereo's aren't as good for enemy positioning, even if the medusa's are just an approximation of surround sound. I'm not sure how the ProGamer ones work - I've only got the basic ones that I got about 2 years ago, and they still work fine.

Another vote for the Medusas here. I've been using them for around 6 months and I think they're great. The surround sound gives you a good idea of where people are coming from in games, and the sound quality is definitely good enough. They're really comfortable as well. I'd go for the regular version, the ProGamer version is basically the same with a detachable mic and a USB plug for power.

medusa's are awful, the best thing about them is the mic, which is mediocre.

people who support medusa's often aren't aware of what good sound quality is, and are victim to the gimick. Just get a nice pair of stereo headphones with a nice big sound stage, like HD600's, and use them in conjunction with openal if your sound card supports it, and CMSS 3d, and that's the best positioning you can get in fps games at the moment.
