Hi, im looking for a new gaming headset for my pc and was wondering what ones you guys recommend for good sound and mic quality.

so far i came across these two headsets http://www.bit-tech.net/gaming/2007/...head_to_head/1

I have had a Sennheiser before but it broke. i was however, very happy with the sound quality and mic on it though so would not mind buying another one from that brand. However, that Creative one sounds like its as good as Sennheiser but half the price of it.

I have also looked that those ubber expensive ones with 5.1/7.1 surround sound thats powered by the mains and can connect via optic out on consoles as well as a AV reciver. At the back of my mobo i do have a optic out connection so that could be handy for that but the price of these headphones seems to cost more than a console!

What you guys think? Cheers in advance.

Hopefully receiving my roccat kaves today when the damn DPD delivery guy gets here...

how well is the 5.1 surround sound on it? is it a software enabled feature or is it built in the headset? those headphones look might tasty.

I know their are ones that come with some little box that needs powering up from the mains and has optic outs on it so you can get true 5.1 sound on your consoles and even on your AV reciever!!!!!!!!!!

what about this:

+1 for the Kave's.

I've had a pair since September and I love them :)

You need a spare USB port on the back to power them.

Just got my Kaves, they're pretty beastly, once i figured out that my computer was constantly just in 2.1 and i then changed it to 5.1 its awesome.. the bass rumbles your head so turn it down a bit otherwise you're going to get a headache. These don't really "sit" on your head but more very comftly hold onto your head.. very nice sound, i love them. Also look smexy :P
