For some reason I'm experiencing lag in fps games like bf4 and h1z1. I've test my ping and speed to several servers in Europe and all tests are perfectly fine but when I'm in either game it feels like they are in America and not the EU.

My computer's spec is as follows: i5 6600k, maximus ranger 8 z170 motherboard, 16gb's of ram, GTX 970, games are installed on a 850 EVO SSD which is running at max speed and my internet connection is BT's Infinity 1 package 55 down 10 up.

The games don't max out my CPU, I've messed around with port forwarding, and adapter settings like Interrupt Moderation, Jumbo Packets, Flow control etc, I've done the regedit fix for windows 7 network throttling index and ive checked resmon while playing to see my pings to the games but this is impossible to read as each throws up 20 connections and half of them don't register any pings at all. It's gotten to the point where I'm seriously thinking about quitting all FPS game as it's a complete waste of time.

Any help or idea's would be most welcome.

The games aren't going to max out your CPU (as in 100% load).

Presuming you mean lag as in ping / latency - rather than FPS (just unsure why you put the bit about not maxing out CPU).

There's a test site called ookla (or similar spelling) it tests the up and down plus your ping.

Already tested on ookla and the pings are fine and I only mentioned the cpu load because when increasing the throttling index in regedit it increased the cpu load as it was processing more packets.
