Hi guys,

my Ideazon Z Board is starting to die and so I'm looking for a replacement keyboard. Back in the day I used to use the curser keys and a mouse to control my FPS games, I could never get used to wasd on the main keyboard, although to be fair I never gave it a chance. It's hard to lose track of the curser keys though! However, as games become more complex and more keys were required I found the lack of useable keys around the cursers a problem. I then stumbled upon the Zboard and absolutely love it. However, normal typing is a bit of a chore.

Now it's time to look for a replacement and I've got three options:

1. Steel Series Merc Stealth - basically a revamped Zboard but with a full size keyboard and number pad.

2. Mechanical gaming keyboard such as the Razer Blackwidow Ultimate

3. Razer Nostromo plus a dedicated mechanical keyboard for day to day typing:

The Merc has a major bonus in the fact that I'm used to the layout, however, I'm not sure about the quality for day to day typing.

A mechanical gaming keyboard has the quality, but will I struggle to adapt to the traditional wasd layout?

The Nostromo looks like a good middle ground in so much as I can use a decent mechanical keyboard for day to day then plug in the Nostromo when I fancy a game.

Any thoughts, recommendations, reviews? I'd like some suggestions on decent keyboards that I could pair with the Nostromo ...

Cheers,

Jed.

Personally (and Im not biased because I just bought it), but I find the Sidewinder X4 is good, it has rasied bumps on the W so you know where your fingers are and it has 3 sets of marco keys.
For £20-£40, you cant really go wrong.
