I've been playing FPS (mainly css) for over 4 years now and I had the perfect setup with my MX518 and Microsoft Multimedia keyboard, but have since decided to "upgrade", only to find these upgrades turn out no better than the pair I already have.

Now in my room I have a collection of 5 logitech mice :|
  • MX Revolution - great mouse but bad for gaming, selling (near-new condition)
  • G7 - great mouse but not better than MX518 for games, selling (near-new condition)
  • G5 is on order to replace my MX518
  • MX518 (my beloved ;p still using this one lol)
  • And this basic laser mouse with came with the Logitech Wave wireless keyboard bundle, never used it.
And a Logitech Wave keyboard, which I'm not very fond of tbh, too difficult to type on, I get a lot of strain, so also selling this in near-new condition.

Now the real purpose of this thread:
I'm gonna stick with the G5 as its wired so must be as good as if not better than the MX518.

Which keyboard?
Needs to be good for gaming, but also have basic multimedia keys and shortcuts like My Docs, etc.

Out of interest, what was bad about the MX Revolution? I got one about a year ago, and haven't regretted it for a second, it's comfy, responsive, loads of buttons, just perfect tbh.

m518 > g5 imo, had both, deathadder beats both hands down. I've played around with several mice bar the most recent ones (lachesis/g9/ikari laser), out of all of the rest I've tried, DA was the best.

Keyboard with a low profile is my preference, but then chosing a keyboard is just that, a matter of preference. In terms of gaming keyboards though, I like the g15 because I can use instant messenger progs etc through the lcd panel without having to alt tab while gaming. In terms of gaming functions I hardly bother with the macros (occasionally use the display for stats etc)

if you have the money, get the logitech dinovo edge, looks amazing and is fine for games like css. It's not a gaming keyboard but then again, you won't need anything more than it's got. Plus it's wireless which I think is definately better for keyboards, clears up the clutter and you can use it whilst in bed

i still have my MX518, best mouse i've ever used but the DA looks tempting.

I would reccomend the Eclipse 2 since it has illuminated buttons for night playing but some people report un-responsive keys and i've already buggered my space bar.
