Gaming PC #2 needs a decent keyboard and mouse, and I've been impressed with the Logitech G15 keyboard (V1) and G7 mouse on gaming pc#1 (both of which came from OcUK a few years ago).

Logitech G15 Keyboard - it seems they've released a V2 of this, which has less macro buttons, an integrated screen (instead of fold-out) and changed the backlights to orange, all of this is better for pc#2 than the G15 V1.
Soo, ocuk have stock of the g15, is this gonna be the v1 or v2?? if it's the v1, are ocuk gonna stock the v2?
This article says that it came out in September, so I guess stock has arrived in the UK by now? A competitor lists the new version as none-in-stock and the original as 3-4weeks wait, and another competitor has 40available to pre-order of the V2 (but cant see a date listed)...

Logitech G7 Mouse - What's happened to this? It seems to have disappeared! I can find it on *that popular auction site* but OcUK et-al don't have it??
What's the replacement/alternative to this? (Laser, wireless with rechargeable batteries, designed for gaming).

Ideas appreciated
Ed.

oops didn't notice the wireless thing but surely a wired mouse would be better and have a faster response time that a wireless mouse thus why correct me if i'm wrong the majority of gaming mouses are wired

The thing is, I never noticed any lag with my G7 on PC#1. The very worst thing that happened was the battery ran out while I was flying a Heli full of my squad on bf2, but I caught the heli with the keyboard and flew it using that while changing the mouse battery with my other hand!

Now that's talent!

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I don't believe they're making the G7 anymore.

n1 with the heli :D (i can't fly them with keyboards mice or keyboards) i spend hours arguing with my flatmate about wired and wireless mice personally for me its the whole solid connection thing so i tend to go for wired mice. Just look at it this way at least with a wired mouse you can always trace it from the pc if it goes walkies however with a wireless it can get anywhere!!!!

I swear I heard something about not here but still available in the USA? But surely they wouldn't stop selling a successful product without a replacement?

I'm not sure. It's not even listed on the American or Canadian Logitech websites anymore. Maybe they plan on releasing a wireless version of the G9 but without the weight carriage.

I can still find it at American and UK retailers though so if they did stop production, there must still be a lot of stock laying around.

for wireless gaming mice the logitech revolution has to be the best, along with the saitek eclipse gaming keyboard.

Yea would be good for a replacement to be released, I've found the G7 from resellers on *That popular auction site* but am always a bit wary of buying from there!

Does seem odd that they haven’t replaced the G7, it’s not been available from most places for quite a while now. I never felt wireless was an issue for gaming personally, and they used to advertise the G7 as having some fancy fast wireless connection suitable for gaming, but I guess that could just be marketing stuff. :)

I don’t like using said auction site, but not just because of a lack of trust but because things never seem much cheaper to me than just purchasing new online from a decent retailer such as here.

Exactly, the G7 was an awesome mouse but just disappeared with no word from Logitech :(, IIRC the fast wireless connection is 2.4Ghz (same as Wi-Fi).

Agreed, if OcUK had the G7 I'd have bought it by now! (same with the G15 v2)

Re the G15, I've seen US high street retailers (CC) selling it for $79.99 + tax, so it'll be very soon here.... and a poster on another forum reckons it's released November here :D
Any ideas whether OcUK are gonna be getting it in?

heres my advice get a g5 (no more battery swapping trust me i know)
I also like the look of the new zboard stealth, come november 23rd i believe ill be getting this.

The G7 is an epic mouse. I have a special edition carbon fibre one with blue trims. One of the batteries only lasted 4 hours about a month after I bought it. Logitech told me that they could not supply batteries on their own and that I would have to have new mouse. Well ok, but they only stock the standard green G7. I deffo didn't want that, so I complained. Half way through the drawn out process they said the would send me a new mouse but I had to send them the charger and dongle. These are sp ed blue trim ones. I said no way. Getting rather annoyed at the, frankly unhelpful service, I wrote to them and told them how I wanted this issue to be resolved. They agreed to send me a new G7 and let me return the new green charger and dongle. I would end up with 4 batts and two mice. I agreed to this. 2 weeks later nothing!!! In the end they gave me an MX Revolution FOC and was told to keep the G7 as was. They informed me that the G7 was obsolete. I was told about the G9 about 4 months ago, but it is wired and I didn't want that. Now I game with a G7 and use the MXR for normal stuff. All this hot air is simply reinforcing the statement made earlier that the G7 has been pulled, 4 odd months ago, if not longer.
