Is anything like this on the market already?

Would anyone buy it if it was?

For regular typing, you could just have a toggle to switch modes.

whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy.

he could have done make consoles work properly on keyboards and mouse with no bs now that would be awesome.

I'll wait for someone to translate that into English before I respond to it.

I quite like the idea, I do find it quite annoying in PC games where there is no "walk" command when you are following an NPC who IS walking, you have to either kind of shuffle along behind them or crouch walk, breaking immersion completely.

I'm not really sure what you're trying to say here - are you saying he should have tried to make consoles work better with keyboard and mouse? Because if so that's a completely different kettle of fish from building an analogue PC keyboard.

actually stunned people want a analogue keyboard

this actually makes movement less precise on keyboard

in many fast moving games like fps you would be slaughtered :p

for people new to pc gaming or lazy then maybe but if you a avid gamer its a bad idea.

hes obviously looked at similar problems with games and movement and if hed applied some of this towards the reverse with consoles and keyboards and mice then yes he would have a a lot better market and product.

he hasnt just done it on a whim hes probably going to try to sell it someone

FPS aren't the only games out there - any kind of flying/driving is much better with analogue input. If he could design a system like he has now but with an analogue/digital switch it'd be the best of both worlds - use digital input whilst ground pounding and switch to analogue when you hop in a vehicle.

why would you want to refine wasd movements? your fingers will hurt after a while as you have to apply varied amounts of pressure to walk slowly or faster.

I think the idea is good but has no practical use

Spot on.

This idea has no legs, a gamepad is much more suitable for games that need analogue input than a keyboard.

But a gamepad isn't suited to a game that requires the precision of a mouse.

I actually quite like this idea. The ability to walk or run using a single key would be good.

But it's not. It's using 4 keys. The position would be awkward, next people will be adopting the claw grip with WASD lol

The only advantage I can think of it is for racing games, but then who the hell uses a keyboard for racing sims? I know there will be one or two who will step up to the line and say "Me" and if they do they should hold their head in shame. :p

3rd person action/stealth games could be a thing.

Dues ex and the like, run/walk hold key no more, i could buy that.

Yeah stealth games could use it well. How many times have I had to side step back and forth to get that shot lined up perfectly.

Your hand position would be the same as always?
