Im not sure what to do about a new keyboard, my current one is filthy and its not worth cleaning so its getting turfed, its a logitech silver ultraX keyboard, just over 3 years old.

Ive come up with a few options:

1. Buy a proper gaming keyboard (maybe sidewinder X4?) however it will get dirty and end up getting turfed in a few years for the same reason.

2. Just buy another cheapo keyboard for £8.

3. Buy a chiclet style keyboard! It will never get dirty. Not sure how these are for gaming... don't know if ill mind or not.

Any suggestions?

Hmm looks pretty good! Not sure if it comes in the UK layout though and for the price its close to the apple mac keyboard.

Oh decisions decisions, ive always wanted illuminated keys. I should probably just get out of the cheapskate mentality and plop for the sidewinder, ill be more inclined to clean it since its more expensive... probably :p

I got a Ultra X at work, yeah, it's not the easiest to maintain.

Mechanical keyboards are easier to remove keys and clean underneath. UltraX has scissor switches, so it's fiddly.

Always wondered what the deal was with mechanical keyboards, so many go on about them like they're the answer to something. Ive wanted to try one for ages to see what if anything differs from the umm non mechanical? variety ive been using for years.
