Gaming Keyboards, Worth it?

Are gaming keyboards really worth it? ive always had a standard one but thinking about getting a gaming keyboard, are they worth it in terms of movement in gaming etc?

I would also like to know this first hand. Maybe whether its worth getting a mechanical gaming keyboard or just a membrane gaming keyboard.

Short answer:

Don't even think about buying a membrane "gaming" keyboard. Invest in any mechanical keyboard, and it'll be much nicer to use. Red or black switches are usually recommended for games.

I like gaming in the dark, so I like the fact that my gaming keyboard has illuminated keys

- the LCD screen is an added bonus to displaying various stats

Coolermaster Quickfire TK has Red switches (which are considered good for gaming) and illuminated keys. Not to mention that it only costs like £70.
