After a slight beer-related mishap my logitech G11 is no more (a few of the keys have stopped responding), so I'm looking for a replacement. My criteria are:

* Must be backlit
* Must have big, chunky keys - none of this "sleek" low profile rubbish (I have sausage fingers so elegant keyboard solutions don't agree with me).
* The bigger and heavier the better, for stability. But I'm flexible on this...

I quite liked the G11 - it gave me all the above, had some useful shortcuts, and a nice disc-spin type volume control. I paid about £35 for it a couple of years ago. But £35 doesn't seem to get you much of anything these days...

Anyway, does anyone have any suggestions? The logitech options (G19 / G510) look great, but they're expensive. There doesn't seem to be a "full size" model without the LCD screen any more... My budget is flexible, but I'd rather not spend more than I need to.

Finally, are there any keyboard brands which have proven particularly beer / water resistant?!

The sidewinder looks interesting, but there are some user reviews saying that the keys are slightly smaller than usual? :confused: I'll find some real reviews...

The keys on my Sidewinder are annoying, they sit too close together and you will hit the wrong keys now and again other than the odd spelling mistake it is a small keyboard with sleek looks to the eye.

Logitech G110?

Just a little upgrade from your G11 tbh, should feel pretty similar. That's what I've got.

Have a look at the Logitech G110 keyboard.
I like mine, nice back lighting, but the location of the audio & mic isn't perfect.

But, as I don't use them, then it isn't a problem for me

Thanks for the advice guys :)

The G110 was looking like a good option, but then I spied a G19 in the MM for £75. Sure it's a few quid extra, but the potential to stream filth through my keyboard should make it a worthwhile investment :D

Note: The Sidewinder X4 has a wrist wrest that is not removable. It isn't at the normal angle for wrist wrests. I've got used to it, but it was strange at first and every now and again I get the urge to remove it, but most of the time it's fine. Otherwise, a very good keyboard.
