Hey all,

Looking for a laptop around £1200 max. I have seen some deals recently including a 6800HS and 3070 Ti Asus TUF A17 go for £999.

I am not sure what the 4000 series will bring and what to expect from that price point early on. Any guesses based on experience from previous years?

Some suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Joe

Just picked up a Dell G7 15 7590 with an RTX 2070 and a 9750h and a 1080p 144hz screen for a decent price. Worth looking around for refurb or second hand models.

Hey rIcK, how are you getting on with this laptop? I've seen a similar spec laptop, but not sure if it is over priced around £600?

Intel Core i7 10th Gen 10750H
Nvidia RTX 2070 Max-Q
16GB DDR4 RAM
1920 x 1080 IPS Display, 144Hz
512GB NVMe SSD

I don't tend to buy anything other than Apple and Dell Alienware due to warranty coverage options.

1200inc vat should squeeze you into a refurbed Alienware x14 512gb/16gb/3060 but the pricing keeps bobbing up and down. I would say after 1st February, when the Nvidia laptop embargo drops and the new laptops get listed, that the x14's will certainly drop below 1200.

Personally, I am holding on as I did not think that the 10th/11th/12th gen Intel CPUs and 30x0 laptop GPU's were much kop and these new laptops will be the ones to get (especially with an AMD CPU) but I think even the new x14 is gonna be eye-wateringly expensive.

I think if i bought one now, I would probably suffer buyers remorse.

Mine was about £540. Been happy with it for the price and runs everything on its native screen very well! 600 is still a good price, considering the better CPU too.
