Gaming Laptop (Dell?)

I've looked around at Laptops, a lot out there! The Dell and Acers look good, I'm just wondering what's the best GPU, the ATI 3450 or the Nvidia 8600GT?

At the moment I like the look of the Dell Studio 15 but would the Dell M1530 be better? The only differences is the card as mentioned above from what I can see.

Budget of around £600, wish to play Source games and CoD4.

Found its the 8600GT so going with the Dell.

Is it worth upgrading anything on them when checking out?

go for highest cpu you can afford

the ram and hdd can easily and cheaply be upgraded yourself

Have you tried looking on the Dell Outlet website, there are some pretty good deals to be had if you time it right.

Oh and i would definitely consider the XPS M1530 i got one the other day and i am really chuffed with it!

i have the acer 5930g. Its got the ddr3 9600gt and centrino 2. All for £599 and, the build quality is good as well.

8600GT is a bit weak tbh...it's only just enough for 1280x800 on COD4 will the details at max. AA kills it. It's a shame there's nothing quicker in that price range really.

It does pretty well in source games though.

I'd be fairly sure that they will, seeing as most companies are doing a 'Montevina' refresh. I just hope they keep the great style of the XPS's

The m1530 is going to be discontinued in November
