Gaming laptop for my son

Hey guys I'm kind of new/out of date to all this so any advice would be greatly appreciated
I'm currently looking at getting my son a laptop for Christmas Ideally under £1000 and on finance would be great I have seen a couple but don't exactly know what I should be looking for.
Firstly he likes games like fallout or anything Bethesda, COD, Fortnite, red dead.
He will also need something that is good for his coursework throughout school/college
Any suggestions would be great thanks.
 
Hey all thanks for the replies. The reason why I am swaying towards laptop is because he is back and forth between parents he won't be needing to take it to school and college is a few years off yet
 
Does anyone have. Any ideas on a good laptop to suit the requirements. What is the lowest generation graphics card suitable for future proofing?

Okay I'm pretty much sold on the Asus that's a good laptop and slot more bang for buck compared with the others.
