hi there, I plan on getting a gaming laptop after finally completing my desktop (supplied by OCUK) :)

how would this perform playing BF3?

and is it better than this? http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=LT-068-MS&groupid=959&catid=1828&subcat=

I wanted an alienware but they seem WAY overpriced for the hardware spec you get.

Also I like the GE60 because it has a blu ray drive which would be a big plus for me as I spend a lot of time in hotels for work. and trying to play StarCraft 2 on my current laptop which I have had for years just doesn't cut it! (integrated graphics etc.)

thanks for opinions and any other laptop ideas you can throw in (budget no more than £1100) thanks

EDIT: are these any good, spec is awesome but are they trusted?

First off get rid of the link mate agains forum rules:

However if you are serious about gaming get this OcUK Extreme P170EM.

Get the lowest spec possible add you own bits later and you are golden, the OcUK Extreme P150EM, is also a solid choice.

The enduro problem with the AMD 7970M "should" be getting fixed soon, however it affects a few games (BF3).

These chasis are easily to upgrade, both can take a mSATA SSD, the 15" version can be fitted with a mSATA SSD for OS and a larger mechanical HDD for storage.

The 17" can take 2 2.5" HDD and a mSATA SSD, also both can easily be fitted with a Optical bay drive to increase it even further.

The CPU and GPU are easily up-graded in the future.

Take the pain now spend a little more and get the result you want, stay way from the MSI GT780DXR-814UK l know you get the whole package however the speed difference compared to the other two is just not funny.

The GE60 would also have been a solid buy, however no longer in stock.

Regards.

C.
