Hi everyone.

After some advice/suggestions please.

I have just taken delivery of my oculus rift dev kit 2 ;), but my desktop and laptop are struggling to play anything through it. (Neither are gaming pcs though).

It's now the time to upgrade and see what ultra res gaming is all about, currently game on a ps4 but want to try pc gaming and hopefully 4k gaming.

I was looking at getting either the aorus x7 v2 or msi gt 60 dominator gaming laptop but am wondering if I would be better to put that money in a gaming pc instead.

Can anyone advise what kind of system I can get for upto 2k max on a gaming system that can play games such as bf4, Titan fall, crysist 3 at max settings and future proof for 4k gaming? Or if I would be better with either of the previous mentioned laptops. (Not really going to use laptops as portable gaming just round the house really as I can still use old laptop).

If I could get a 4k monitor in there for 2k that would be amazing (think it might be stretching it) but if not I can add that at a later date maybe Christmas time.

Not had a dedicated gaming pc before so any help advice is welcome.

Thanks

Dom

Hi RJC

Thanks for the reply and quote gives me a starting point to look at and change where needed.

Is there any advantage in getting 2 780ti's to sli or will the quote provided give me the Ultra gaming experience I am after?

The 4k monitor looks like a quality piece of kit and the display sounds amazing.

I am just using your original quote and changing a few things will post the basket in a bit for some comments please?

Thanks

2 in SLI will give you a boost, as the rest of the system is capable of running a 2nd GPU.

Post away and we can advise on your new spec :)

Thanks RJC.

Have picked out the following.

EPIC POWER BUNDLE: Intel 4790K, Gigabyte Z97X-Gaming 7, Kingston 16GB 2400MHz Kit, Superflower 1000W Platinum PSU & FREE STUFF!! **£50 SAVING** £615.92

Gigabyte GeForce GTX 780Ti WindForce 3x OC 3072MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card (GV-N78TOC-3GD) £499.99

AOC U2868PQU 28" 4K 60Hz 1MS Gaming Widescreen LED Monitor - Black £479.99

Intel 335 Series 20nm 240GB 2.5" SATA 6Gb/s Solid State Hard Drive - Retail (SSDSC2CT240A4K5) £79.99

Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM 1TB SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache - OEM (ST1000DM003) HDD £41.98

Total - £1809.86

Would I need anything else and also I have read that the Graphic card is a big one would I get another one in further down the line?

Also can you overclock the CPU (If needed?)

Would the graphic card be ok or could you suggest an alternative as if the above spec is ok I have another £200 to play with that I could add to the graphics card.

Thanks for any help and advice just want to make sure I get everything right before ordering (but need to order by Sunday so I can make a start on the build next week.

Thanks
