I've gone through the forum and can see my question gets asked repeatedly but prices and availability change so quickly.

I'm looking for a gaming laptop that will support flight sims (DCS etc) and work well with VR.

I've looked at a couple, are there better value options?...

Acer Predator Helios 300 17 inch Windows 10 i5 Gaming Laptop nVidia GTX 1050 16GB RAM 1TB 128GB SSD
£1049

ASUS FX503VM-DM093T Gaming Laptop
£970

Thanks

Hi @tatters,

For smooth flight sims, and a good VR experience we would suggest stepping up to a GTX1060 card with 6GB vRAM. We currently have the following unit at a discount with OCUK (until Wednesday), bringing it in on budget for you :-)

SabrePro 15-CF2 - 15.6" Full HD IPS / i7-7700HQ/ GTX 1060 6GB/ DDR4 8GB/ 128GB M.2 SATA SSD + 1TB HDD 7200rpm/ Win10/ 2yrs

Hope that helps, any Q's let us know.

Regards,

Gigabyte UK NB Team

Honestly for VR you want nothing less than a 1070 graphics card if you want to get the most out of it. VR is massively demanding and dropping below 90fps can cause motion sickness (and just ruin your enjoyment of it)
