Im just wondering what sort of laptop i could get for upto £750-900 to play the bit of COD2 and a few other games.

The reason for this is whether or not to take in the Sony Vaio my dad has, with a Nvidea 6200 128MB Gfx Card (i think) and its 1.73ghz.

Or to buy a new one with a better graphics card.

Any ideas on what i should look at?

errm not sure, but i think you can find a core 2 duo laptop with a dedicated graphics card for that price. That is what you'd be looking at for gaming i think.

Just found a Laptop for £899.99 with these specs:

# Intel Core Duo T2400 Processor 1.83GHz
# 667 MHz FSB
# 2 MB Cache
# 1024 MB RAM
# 160 GB Hard Drive
# DVD ReWriter MultiDrive
# 17" Widescreen Display
# Microsoft Windows XP Home
# 256mb NVIDIA GeForce Go 7600 Graphics

What you guys recon?

Yeah i realise it's quite a size - but i can use it to watch DVD's in bed too.

It'll be on my lap most of the time..or on a table.

Mostly though it'll be used for DVD's, MSN, the odd Game.

Are them specs okay though for COD2, Prey etc?

Maybe not for prey but cod2 on dx7.

None of them are really going to last very long, I'd try personally to upp the budget a bit.

I realise that, but its not heavy gaming. Its just occasional. Once/Twice a week if that.

And i would run COD2 on DX7 anyway.

If i was to up the budget, what would you say to look at?

Well firstly I think if you wait a month or two (if you can) then more Core 2 Duo laptops will be out so the Core Duo laptops will go down in price (hopefully).

I'll have a lookaround now.

Well i can wait. But id prefer to get one asap, but if its worth it..I guess i can wait.

I just want it to play the odd game once in a while. Ive been looking around MM, and other places used/new.

Im not sure what i should be looking at for gamingreally..
