I'm not sure of any that are better and cheaper, but there's the MSI GX640 which you can get for £999. It should beat both of those 2; it's got the 5850M which is above the 260M, but just below the 280M. If you can stretch the extra £30 over the first one, I'd personally say it's worth it.

You may be able to find a cheaper laptop that matches the specs of those though, Alienware aren't exactly known for being price orientated .
