Gaming laptop

Aye, although might be worth seeing if MSI come out with a 6970m powered version now over the 5870m (the 5870m is still decent, approx 5750/70 levels, but the 6970m is about equivalent to a desktop 6850, so the next class up)
 
The graphics cards in those Dell machines are pretty ropey, and quite frankly, that's by far one of the most important components of a gaming PC, especially a laptop as they're much harder to upgrade.

Had been seriously been considering getting one of those - some gaming but mainly for running Adobe AE.

Also just noticed the lack of a Blu-Ray drive :(
 
You could always get an external blu-ray drive I suppose. Though I'm not a big fan of watching blu-ray's on a laptop, unless you planned on hooking it up to a TV or monitor.
 
Modern gaming laptop GPUs are surprisingly good when you consider they're quite literally half the size of most desktop cards :)
