Hiya guys been looking around at laptops for awhile does anyone have a lot of knowledge to help me know what the best laptop is to buy and where you can buy singular GPU's for laptops as SLI and crossfire performance is extremely good for laptops and sometimes a much cheaper option.

- 15.6” FHD 16:9 LED Backlit Wide screen (1920x1080) Super Clear Matte Type Screen

- 2nd Generation Intel® Core™ i7-2670QM, 2.2-3.1GHz, (32nm, 6MB L3 cache)

- Stock OEM Thermal Compound

- nVidia GeForce GTX 580M 2,048MB PCI-Express GDDR5 DX11

- 8GB DDR3 1600MHz Dual Channel Memory (2x4GB SODIMMS) –

- Standard Finish

- 750GB 7200RPM 16MB Cache Buffer (Serial-ATA II 3GB/s)

How's this for £870?

Will I be able to in the future add another 580m?

95% sure you can sli that as Ive seen similar specs from a few sites with 2x 580m. Personally if you can I would try get 1 7970 it is close to 2x6990 and uses less power then a 570m last I read. If you can just drop the model name then that should be enough to tell for sure.

I wold straight away bin that idea, last gen i7 - ivy perfroms way better in laptops and the GPU has been seriously overshadowed too now, if it was maybe £650 it would be a decent deal

Looking for a gaming laptop, nothing fancy at all, and come across this:

Acer Aspire 5755G Core i3 Gaming Laptop

Processor - Intel Core i3 2350 - 2.3 GHz
RAM - 4 GB
Graphics - NVIDIA GeForce GT 630M Optimus
Graphics Memory - 1 GB GDDR3

What can I expect from this gaming wise?

That will tear games apart for a good while to come, the new i7 are on par with i2600k and the new 7970 is really something too.

5% slower then 2x580 in somet of the benchmarks so really see the power it offers.
