Gaming Laptop

Hello can someone clear up issue for me. not into all graphics cards etc. but love playing my pc games want to move into doing my gaming on a laptop.

I was looking at 2k Alienware laptop but some people say i can get better spec for less money than alienware if i went to different brand. is this correct?

Yes, look to the Clevo P170EM if you are in the market for a single GPU solution. (M17x R4 equivalent)

I fancied an M18x but after searching the web I found a Clevo chassis laptop for 2K which blew the M18x out of the water spec wise, looks a little bland though.

Is the blandness of Clevo that bad though? I'd rather a functional chassis than something that looks like a child's toy

I read somewhere that alienware laptops (especially the 17 & 18 inch ones) weighs a lot more than the clevo does... how portable do you need the laptop to be?

With the correct laptop bag, an extra couple of kg or so won't make too much of a difference.

Agreed with the above though, Clevo's are bland, but what you don't pay for in 'frills', you most likely pay for in raw performance!

I'd trade in my m17X for an equally priced clevo, which will inevitably hold more power, any day of the week!

I must admit they aren't light, but as said with the right bag they aren't too bad.

That's what swung it for me. Would rather have the performance at the end of the day.

I will be in need of a laptop in not that distance future and thinking same way ...either lucky with outlet (doubt it) or go Clevo. Hopefully in few months time some new graphic chips will come in to light when it comes to mobility market.

Been checking the dell refurbished section almost daily and never seen an alienware laptop come up have been some tasty desktops though like an alienware aurora ATX with GTX 690 for £1300 delivered

lmao, Checked just now and there was a m17x r3 and 6 m14x's... whilst comparing them the m17x disappeared
