Hi Guys,

As per title really. Budget is around £800~. Want it to play BF3 when it comes out, and pretty much every game at the moment at near high end graphics.

Already have:

Case - Xigamatek Utgard
Storage Drives - 1TB and few 500GBs
Keyboard
Mouse
Speakers
Monitor
Optical Drive

Need everything else (inc. Speedy 6GBs SSD). Been out of the loop for some time, but I understand Sandybridge CPU's are where it's at, at the moment.

Any info or input will be greatly appreciated.

Many Thanks,
Jake

I suppose you also have a SATA optical as well.

What PSU you have?

YOUR BASKET
1 x MSI GeForce GTX 570 OC Twin FrozR III Power Edition 1280MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £259.99
1 x Intel Core i5-2500K 3.30GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor - Retail £159.98
1 x Crucial RealSSD M4 128GB 2.5" SATA 6Gb/s Solid State Hard Drive £139.99
1 x Asus P8Z68-V Intel Z68 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard £131.99
1 x Kingston HyperX Genesis Grey 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (KHX1600C9D3X2K2/8GX) £59.99
Total : £763.34 (includes shipping : £9.50).

For starters. Can get a Gen3 motherboard, CPU cooler, or a Vertex 3, if you need fast writes.

Intel Core i5-2500K 3.30GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor - Retail £159.98
Asus P8P67 PRO Intel P67 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard ** B3 REVISION ** £144.98
Kingston HyperX Genesis Grey 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit £59.99
MSI GeForce GTX 560Ti Twin FrozR II 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £173.99
Corsair Enthusiast Series TX650M High Performance 650W Modular Power Supply £89.99
LG GH22NS70 22x DVD±RW SATA ReWriter (Black) - OEM £16.99
Crucial RealSSD M4 128GB 2.5" SATA 6Gb/s Solid State Hard Drive £139.99

total excl delivery: £785.91

the CPU is on a weekly offer so may be a little pricier when you get round to ordering. also RAM offers vary frequently so just get whatever 8GB 1600MHz dual channel kit happens to be cheapest at the time of ordering. you could save a bit of money going for the non-modular version of the power supply (Corsair Enthusiast Series TX 650W V2 High Performance '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply £62.99).

if you wanted a slightly better graphics card (not that the 560 Ti is at all bad) then the radeon 6950 1GB goes for around a tenner more. i won't recommend a precise model though as i'm not too clued up on that line of cards.

Thanks for the input guys. Keep them coming (only if you want to). I'll collate something together later on tonight. Thanks again.

Ohh, and I don't have a decent PSU, so I'll need one. Forgot to mentioned I have a Optical drive (I'll updated the OP)

Reaper, I like the look of that spec.. the 128GB SSD maybe a bit much, so I may downgrade that.. and then it will be around my budget. Thanks all, much appreciated.
