Folks, Ive been using an MX518 for some time and Ive just watched a Youtube Vid about BF4 (thanks to lawrence281 for that) which states that the polling rate of mice will effect gameplay (and presumably smoothness in windows?)

The video mentions the G400S, but the video was made in 2013, so probably a little old now and some newer hardware should be out already.

I would like to hear your opinions on mice which you rate and recommend (with higher polling rate of course).

Is there a G400S successor?

Any comments/advice appreciate folks, many thanks as always! :)

Thanks Angel. Will take a look.

Looking for something like the mx518. Are Logitech no longer that good with gaming mice these days?

How about the G502? fantastic mouse imo and love the mouse, has probably the best mouse sensor on the market atm along with great responsive click switches. Well worth look at.

The zowie and the 502 have the same sensor, well the 502 is the newer version but basically isn't any worse or better.

I had a logitech 510, 518 and had a g500 last. I like it and i use a claw grip but I'm just not as consistent with the g500 as I was with the mx518.

I like the shape of both and have recently gone zowie and really like it

I think there's a lot of confusion about polling rates, most people don't use 1k iirc since it's really not necessary to go that high and it there may be some negative effects in doing so with no real positives (maybe dependent on mouse or software). With my G9x i've tried both and there's no real difference between the two, but i use 500hz.

The FK2 and the G502 apparently do not use the same sensor, the g502 supposedly uses a proprietary sensor from Logitech, but both are "flawless" sensors according to reviewers.

That one you've linked is the FK2 yes, the FK2 uses no software from what i recall, but the g502 uses Logitechs software. The FK2 is very simple in comparison to the g502, which is kind of over complicated.

Just to add in another possibility, i'm looking at a new mouse and considering the new Mionix Castor

Thanks Fonzie.
How come you are considering the Castor instead of the FK2/G502?

Thanks Glanza - is the adjustment in software presumably?

Um, i prefer the shape of it over the FK2, and the look and the G502 is just a bit too overboard for my liking. Apparently the scroll wheel on both mice have caveats, and since i do a fair bit of kz and bhop in csgo i'd prefer to have a decent scroll wheel.

That being said though, i will wait to see what people are saying about the castor before i take the plunge with it, since mionix are a decent company but not one that's as well known as Logitech or Zowie.
