Not sure if this the right section, but yesterday i purchased a soundbar, used, but a decent JVC 2.1(built in subwoofer)TH D131B and connection wise it has optical, usb, aux, hdmi arc and bluetooth.
The tv i use has 3 hdmi ports with one being arc and other audio connections/usb, just not optical and while its a good tv(Blaupunkt 24" 720p) i would like a something with optical to free up the arc port for another device. Im only connecting consoles to this, not my computer.
I am looking at gaming monitors for 120hz support for my Series S and PS5, but i do have ps4/ps3/ps2/ps1 and an xbox one plus 360, so i will need the support for RCA too which means i will need one of those hdmi extractors or something.
So basically to the question, has anyone used those hdmi extractors or converters and had good success with monitors? Im trying to see whether a monitor is worth all that fuss or just get a better tv even though it wont support 120hz.
