I have given up on my 3 options on my last thread (and if a mod can delete the thread that would be great)

i really have no idea what i am doing.... so i have decided to just let someone choose for me. I have a few requirements for my monitor but i am uncapable of finding one for those specs;
MAX Budget = £350
2ms response time
23"-27" (must be 1080p)
not be thick like an old CRT type box
must show a huge improvement over an acer x223w (i have been using a VGA to DVI connection for the past 5 years because that acer monitor has only VGA)
not look like crap
preferably from OcUK (but anywhere trusted in UK is fine)

i have taken interest in this one:
Samsung SyncMaster XL2370 23"
Acer GD245HQ

can someone please leave some info on using a 120Hz monitor (not for 3d) with a card like the 5870 (i am using the XFX 5870) because i read that:
"While we're looking at the connectivity, it's a good time to revisit a question that we're often asked: can a HDMI cable carry a 120 Hz signal/?
The answer is 'no'--with the current version of the standard (1.3) at least. Our tests did manage to push the refresh rate above 60 Hz, but only to 75 Hz with a resolution of 800 x 600 pixels. That means you'll have to use DVI--and a Dual Link cable at that--if you want to get up to 120 Hz in 1920 x 1080 pixels."
Is a DVI cable the exact same as a HDMI cable just without the audio? and what is a dual link cable? because i dont want to have to mess around with lots of different cables i just want to use a DVI or a HDMI cable.

All help will be extremely appreciated
Tom

can i just use a DVI cable, what difference will i see between a 120hz and a 60hz monitor?
