Looking to spend a max of £350 on a decent gaming monitor. Using an RX480 on a Samsung TV isn't cutting it for me.

Either a 24" or 27" with decent spec. Have been looking at the following sets:

Asus MG248Q
Iiyama Prolite GB2788HS-B1
BenQ ZOWIE XL2720

Any suggestions, not had a gaming monitor before?

With a 480 I would opt for a 1080p monitor and would take a Viewsonic XG2401 over the Asus Mg248Q.

Asus has been pretty poor in recent times with their quality control. I have used the viewsonic and it's great.

Very solid build quality and excellent handling of motion. It also has freesync so a nice match up with your 480.

Have you looked at the Samsung C24FG70?

It's a 1080p 24in VA monitor with Quantum Dot (which essentially means way better colors and blacks than any TN panels). It's 144hz and advertised at 1ms response time. Freesync is also supported, so that would match up with your RX 480 well. It can be found for ~£300

I've heard of the view sonic, any reviews? Sticking to 1080p, want to keep ultra settings in most games.

I've been eyeing up this:

Iiyama G-Master GB2488HSU-B2

I just got a viewsonic xg2401 yesterday its fantastic! I highly recommend it, I use a 1060 so cant even make use of the freesync but it was easy to setup and got the following fps in my games.

Overwatch - 138-155
Resi 7 - 70-90
The Forest - 70+
Dark souls 3 - constant 60 (capped)
Grim Dawn - 144+ always.
Diablo - 130+ always.

I highly recommend the 144hz, I was not sure at first and was almost going to get a 60hz one, I'm glad I didn't, sure you wont hit 144 at all times but its always better than 60 in anything you play and games you do have that will go above 100 look and feel fantastic. I was really surprised Overwatch stayed within the 144 at all times!
