Massive overkill all around, frankly. You'd be much better off spending half of that now and half of it again later when you want to upgrade again.

Do you intend on overclocking?

Yeh was planning to do abit of overclocking. Starting to think you guys are right and it might be abit over the top.

There, that's half off. This'll give darn near equal performance since you're not so high up the price vs performance curve.

Buy a boat with the rest of the money. Boats are fun.

no no no no no no no!!!!

don't you dare buy a pc with that kind of budget about 3 or 4 weeks before the new processors are released! it would be a complete waste of your money with that kind of budget!

wait just wait :)

then yet the new 12mb cache inetl cpu on a x38 board and if you are really interested in spending that kind of money get ddr3 but it should be illegal for you to spend that much money on a pc that will drop in value as soon as the new generation of 45nm cpu's come out :P

Don't those heat sinks need lapping normaly?

TBH id go water cooling if you wana do some serious overclocking. Bare in mind the amount of extra performance gain you get from water cooling is not needed its just for fun really. Well 3.6ghz q6600 is by far fast enough. 4ghz on air wont help u much more in games etc.

Also id get OCZ ram which is like 5 quid moer purely because of the RMA service being superb and geil not so good. But the performance of the ram its self is identical pritty much.

:EDIT:

New cpuis arn't out till january btw. The only one coming out in november will be about 1 grand.

Also id not run a 30" screen on sli GT if your expecting to max out the games with AA andn AF at such a high resolutuion. Get GTXs or wait for the new ones to come out hopefuly around xmas. (no i dont mean the 9800).

It seems like you've picked your components by just getting the most expensive thing every time. Huge waste of money... the GTX is barely faster than the GT and you're buying 2 of them?! That's costing you almost £1200!! The new gts is out really soon and it should be much faster and cheaper too. Don't get a £610 EXTREME processor when a £150 cpu with a fancy heatsink will go faster.

Personally I wouldn't get a Raptor... I've got one in my last build and it's irritatingly loud, and some modern drives apparently are nearly as fast at 7200rpm.

The PhysX card is a cool idea, but it doesn't really ever deliver in any game in any reviews i've seen, so you might as well throw that £70 down a well.

I like the speakers, Logitech are always solid and reliable, which is more than I would say about creative/cambridge soundworks, what a load of balls.

If you need a serious PSU, that enermax is good too. Do you really need watercooling? That could save you £200 if you don't. You got Vista Basic for some reason? I don't think you get the new interface or anything unless you get Home Premium or better.

To be honest i'd just get 4gb of 2 x £35 geil or 2 x £40 OCZ, that would save you £180.

Boats are indeed nice. Hats are cool too. You could buy a suit of armour, that would be hilarious if you wore it to parties and stuff.

Where did you get £4.5k from to spend on a PC??? (yet you don't seem to be an enthusiast, forgive me for saying)
