My Logitech V100 notepad mouse is starting to show its age, and I felt it was time for a new mouse. I've been looking around, and have my eyes on the Coolermaster Sentinel. It looks and sounds great, but from reviews I've read there was some driver problems. Is this still the case? Are there any other mouses which I should look at? My style is claw grip, and I'm right handed. Bugdet is £50.

It looks nice but it's out of my bugdet lol. I really don't want to spend over £50 as i'm also saving up funds for university this september.

unfortunately, elsewhere do stock them in your budget! I got mine from the 'South American Jungle' :) Which seem to now be £54!

I just bought a Reaper Edge (top one in the pic and the thread is good too), it was 60 and I got it on sale for 30.

The reviews were through the roof.

Looks decent.

Is it a 'heavy' mouse, as thats my preference ( Currently using a Logi MX1100 ).

Does it need any software to configure the buttons and sensitivity ?

It's actually a very light mouse. I think it's pretty big that software is not required to control the DPI sensitivity, it uses on-the-fly hardware so you press a button on the mouse to change it.

You'll need software if you want to control the two thumb buttons, I'm hoping they default to browser back and forward without software.

At the end of the day, this is a low cost mouse with slightly fewer features and refinement options compared to the top end mice. The main focus is the comfort and precision, which are the two main items that concern me since weights and tons of buttons don't bother me too much (not for that additional price).

It's time for Microsoft, Logitech, and Razer to scoot over a bit to make room for their newest rival: Ideazon. The Reaper Edge is just the second mouse to come out of Ideazon's labs, and it shows some impressive gains over its predecessor. Other high-end gaming mice trump the Reaper with more features and better software, but the Edge more than makes up for it with a comfortable design and smaller price tag. Fans of the Logitech G5 or G7 will find the same comfortable feel in the Edge.

The Edge doesn't introduce anything new to us. Ideazon simply took characteristics and improved upon them. For instance, the G5-inspired design is refined a bit with a real rubber thumb grip. This improves control, especially when using your fingertips. Rather than side buttons positioned side-by-side, Ideazon mounted them vertically between the thumb for easier selection. Even the tactile feedback with the right- and left-click buttons stood out to us.

The lack of customization options like weights or different sets of Teflon feet weren't an issue for us. The Edge's light weight and smooth friction provided perfect balance for motion control—never did we feel that we wanted it heavier or smoother.

A cheaper price, comfortable design, and sufficient amount of features helps the Edge rank up with the big boys. With an MSRP of $69.99, and a street price below that in some places, the Edge is worth checking out.
