Hi all,

I have a 2013 MBA and I play LoL on it. I currently have a steelseries mouse but without osx drivers I have to rely on smoothmouse to help with the mouse acceleration.

However, I want to get a gaming mouse that comes with osx software as when I remove my mouse currently it screws up my trackpad and I have to restart to get it working. I'm sure it's something to do with smoothmouse but I can't play LoL without it.

I think I read that Razor mice come with osx software so I am going to look into those but do any other mice come with software that works well with games on osx?

You should look into the Zowie EC2 Evo.

It does not use Mouse Acceleration, it has no drivers for Windows, so it should be the exact same for the Mac and it's a great mouse.

Costs a pretty penny though.

The issue is OSX has mouseaccel on by default. I want a mouse with software specifically design for use with osx.

If you really like your current mouse you may find a program such as Steermouse helpful. The only issue is that it is rather overpriced IMO.

For what games? I know for a fact that mouse accel is on by default so unless you have any additional software the mouse is not going to behave like it does in windows

I'm pretty sure Logitech has the mouse software for OSX. Infact looking at the G500 (my current mouse) there's a download link to the Logitech gaming software for Mac.

Do you use any additional software with it? As for as I am aware Steelseries do not have any osx software

Nothing, I just plug it in and play away. No real issues, except that the mouse stays off if it was plugged in and the computer starts up. I just need to unplug and plug back in.

It doesn't, I got the G500 and it has mouse acceleration still by default in OSX, I know you can get the software from Logitech for it but I never tried it out personally.

I tend to do all my gaming in Windows though and take my mouse out for OSX use and just use the trackpad

The Razer range are pretty good, I have used a Naga 2012 in the past and the drivers are decent, just beware that the Razer control panel pops up each time you start your mac!
