Hi guys, just wondering if you could give me some comments on these as im looking to buy this weekend,

currently have a Logitech MK300 Keyboard and Mouse set, which isnt for gaming at all,
and using a creative fatality headset using the pink and green jacks,

was looking at the following

Zalman K400G Keyboard
Corsair Vengeance M60 Mouse

Then buy this when it comes in stock

Plantronics GameCom 780 7.1 Headset

I know people cant say about the keyboard due to it not being released yet, but what are peoples opinions on the other two? and if any changes what would you recommend?

Thanks, Alex

Not used that mouse personally, I am currently using a CM Sentinel Advanced II and it is probably the best feeling mouse I have ever had.

Would reccommend it.

How big is the g500? My current mouse isn't that big and I quite like it, don't want something that is really big and bulky

The G500 isn't really bulky but it is a palm grip type of mouse rather than a claw grip. Its very comfortable, but if you prefer small claw grip type mice then you may not like it so much. It also comes with a weight pack, so you can adjust how heavy it is according to your taste.

The sidewinder is a cheaper model gaming keyboard, it uses standard membrane type keys, not mechanical. You'll need to spend quite a bit more to get a good mechanical gaming keyboard.

Below are a couple of good examples of mechanical keyboards. I have the QPAD one atm.

YOUR BASKET
1 x Gigabyte Osmium Mechanical Gaming Keyboard £109.99
1 x Qpad MK-85 Red LED Pro Backlit Mechanical Gaming Keyboard - UK Layout - Blue Switches £109.99
Total : £231.38 (includes shipping : £9.50).

thanks wucked, i think ill probably get the sidewinder, not sure on the mouse yet though as im not really sure, might have to take a drive to OCUK HQ and have a play around with some

Looking to spend a maximum of £50 probably

Ok and now tell me what headset design u prefer open or closed and also does it have to be surround headset ?

U want the headset to have really deep bass or u dont care?

there are a lot of factors you have to take into consideration when buying a headset i have used few of the "gaming" headsets and they turned out to be garbage in my opinion.

Steelseries Siberia V2 - good mid and high's poor bass and cushion around earcups became flat after 2 weeks of use, it made the headset very uncomfortable.

TT eSports Shock One - bad sound in general, poor sound isolation, virtual surround in a headset is a bull**** in my opinion.

Tritton AX360 - true 5.1 headset (4 speakers in each cup) very heavy, headset was very loose on my head (i have quite large head).

I prefer closed cup design of a headset do you know wich one you prefer ?

Currently im using Qpad QH-90 headset and i have to say im amazed by the sound quality, general build quality and bass response (thanks to 53mm drivers) its very comfortable to wear even after 12 hours on gaming i dont feel tired of this headset, cushion around earcups feel like a pillow :D but there is a problem it costs 100 pounds wich is over your budget.

Do you have a computer store around where you could go and try all the headsets that interesting you ? in my opinion this is the best way to find headset that will suit your needs.

Yeh I do have a store near me that I can go to, and I'm using a creative fatality at the minute and I find that it's to small around my ears and crushes them after a while,

Yeah my friend had it as well i tried it on for 5 minutes NEVER AGAIN :)

Could u tell me your overall budget for the peripherals u need ? maybe we could cheap out on the keyboard and mouse and maybe u will be able to afford a proper headset :D

sorry for my bad english but it isn't my primary language :)

Couldn't really give you a budget as it is always changing depending on what I like the look and reviews of but would rather have average mouse keyboard and headset than have cheap keyboard mouse and a good headset if that makes sense

Take a look at this keyboard it doesn't have backlit keys but its cheaper than the ones someone above me posted.

For the mouse i can't really help you with because i prefer large and heavy ones, and as for the headset u should really go and try on couple different ones and see what u like.

in the end i went for a Microsoft Sidewinder x4 Keyboard, Which i got for a great deal, and the logitech G500 Mouse, still deciding on a headset, but that wont be this month anyway :)

loving the Sidewinder and G500, thanks for the suggestions guys :)
