I only really play TF2 and at the moment and I'm using a standard Gigabyte mouse. I want something 'better'. Would it be possible on a budget of about £30?

I can spend more if needed... I just don't really want to.

Cheers

Best FPS mouse in terms of a lazer is a Zowie or a Steel Series mouse but they aren't everyones cup of tea in shape and feel.

at teh £40 mark the Zowie FK pro or the Steel series Kana v2.

for under £40
Logitech G300 Optical Gaming Mouse (910-003431)
Corsair Raptor M30 Gaming Mouse (CH-9000042-EU)

Sadly nothing really stands out for under £30 As you are local we do have a selection of mice on display in the shop for you to try for size and feel and our staff would be happy to talk to you about it.

Even though your a stoke fan ill still try help you out ;)

Ive recently brought myself a steelseries kana and couldnt be happier agree with TwsT about the shape as its a ambidextrous mouse but for me its very comfortable. The steelseries software is good aswel for setting your own dpi profiles.

I have had a fireglider for a while now and find it a great gaming mouse.

Usually under £30

I got a Roccat Kova+ for around £30, very happy with it.

Hi Smok3y. The Roccat has really caught my eye. I would buy it today but I have read reports of mouse skipping problems. Basically the mouse will skip a couple of pixels when moving the mouse cursor.

I have also read about some QC control issues as well.

Can you comment on this please.

I use the mouse on my htpc and the only times I have problems with it is on crap surfaces. I have brought a gaming mouse mat from ocuk a couple months ago which I use for ghosts, black ops 2, battlefield etc and have no problems what so ever. Silky smooth. Although I don't really use it, the roccat software has loads of options and customisation things in it too.

Thanks Smok3y.

I have decided its between the Roccat or the Perixx MX-2000IIB which is ₤10 cheaper. The Roccat looks sexy as hell but the sensor issue is worrying me.

Is the Roccat nice to hold and would you describe it as a palm mouse or a claw mouse?

Cheers.

Either or or. I hold it both ways depending on how high I have it off the floor. I sit in the middle of my living room and put my mouse and mat on some books or boxes so it's at different heights most of the time. I've not heard of any of the issues you've mentioned, but then I didn't look for any reviews of it first. I saw some people comment on this forum that Roccat were good gaming mice, I needed a new mouse and so I got the Kova+ based on looks, price and the blurb on the box. I can't really give you any more info. You can change the dpi, the colour of the glowing things on the side and how they work. You can save multiple settings in the software, and there's probably quite a bit more. I've had mine maybe 2 months now. It's the same both sides so you can use it left or right handed. It has that smooth rubbery coating to it. The scroll wheel was a bit stiff at first when pushing it down to lob a grenade but it's loosened off a bit now. The mouse mat is an Ozone gaming gear one, think it was about £10 from ocuk.
