Gaming mouse question.

Hey mates,
I have just recently been getting into pc gaming and was thinking maybe I need a new mouse? My question is other than maybe more buttons on the gaming mice, is the laser more accurate for aiming or something? I have an old microsoft laser mouse. If a gaming mouse doesn't help in some way as far as aiming goes I may just stick with it. Opinions?

Gaming mice generally offer lower latencies, higher and changeable dpi, more buttons and generally move smoother but its not going to revolutionise gameplay.

It's normally the CPU connector is short if the PSU is bottom mounted if i remember right.
