Gaming mouse with a 'sniper' button? (Like the R.A.T.)

One of my favourite features of the RAT series is the precision aim button which toggles DPI down a notch when pressed, making it really easy to get headshots. DPI is then restored as soon as you let go.

Does anyone know other mice with this feature? I'd rather not get a RAT due to its sensor issues.

You can program the two side buttons on the Deathadder to increase or decrease the DPI. I know it's not the same as the R.A.T though.

Ditto what the person above said, but you can set each button to a specific DPI if you'd rather as well as having them set to adjust up and down. I've got them set to up and down for my gaming profile.

As above, most modern mice can have buttons to assign DPI to. E.g. Button 4 has high dpi, button 5 has low dpi. Although I dont think they have the same as the RATs one where the DPI changes only when pressed down.

Yeh the 'toggle' thing is what I'm looking for. If you're in the middle of an FPS there's no time to stop and switch up and down...I wonder if saitek have it patented.

Sensor failing, erratic tracking (cursor gets stuck, have to unplug and replug). I know a couple of people who've had to RMA so might be a bit biased by that but come across forum mentions quite a few times so it appears a common problem.

No such problems with my RAT7.

I have to clean the odd bit of dust from it, from time to time, but that is all.

Bought it on release also.

It's a bit different. He wants a toggle. To me, sounds like a more useful feature than the usual awkward DPI up / down I've seen on most mice

I'm sure manufacturers could had that in a driver update.

Not that bad, I just tried it. Zoom in, decrease DPI, Shoot, Zoom out, Increase DPI, Repeat :cool:

Never had any of those things happen, not once. In 2 different systems also.

The most that ever happens is I track over a hair which confuses it, but that happens with any other optical/laser mouse so is a non-issue.

I use the 'Sniper' Toggle button to INCREASE DPI

Used when I get into things like tanks or mounted machine guns which generally move slower than your normal aim. Toggle on and swing that thing like you mean it!
