I am looking for a monitor that is all purpose. My not that old ASUS Gaming monitor died (I bought the same one for my partners son and his died too!!) and it is out of warranty so that's getting binned. I want a large screen, high refresh rate, 4K, widescreen and I think OLED monitor that will work with all the above devices as well as be usable for standard desktop work when I plug in my work MacBook.

I can spend what I want to please recommend some screens I should consider. I don't want too big, so not of the 49" type screens and think something in the 30"-34" size would make the most sense. I would prefer it were NOT Asus but open to flat, curved, wide and not normal.

Help me Obiclockers, you are my only hope.

There's also the msi mpg 321URX
Pretty sure it's the same panel inside
As the dell
Think gigabyte may also have a new model using
The same panel and probably samsung too
Since its a samsung panel
Both msi and dell offer burn in warranty
Which would be my main concern with an oled
If using it for desktop/Web browsing etc stuff
These new oled panels at least seem to basically eliminate
The text fringing issues with earlier generation oled

Could also consider a mini led monitor ?
No burn in worries then

I think you should check out the Alienware aw3225qf

Its a 32" 4k 240hz oled curved screen that can connect your consoles and PC too.
Just ordered this one, arrives on the 19th.

Thanks for the pointers both, seems to be a bit of a sweet spot for gaming screens this one (with 3 or 4 others sharing the panel) so a good shout.

yeah theres quite a few manufacturers using this panel
though other factors to consider when chosing
between asus,msi,dell and gigabyte
not sure if thats all of them

price between them since panel is same but other features vary
burn in warranty, kvm, usb c power output some are lower powered
one is 90w
whether you can daisy chain over usb c .usb c displayport alt mode
and as far as i know gigabyte one will have displayport 2.1
more future proof and actually has the bandwidth
to fully utilise the panels features without using DSC (compression)
though apparently the compression isnt really visible to the eye anyway

think we are still waiting for the gigabyte one
others seem available though may be a week or 2 for delivery
or are pre order
not seen any available for next day delivery yet
