Hi guys

Iv just got my first dual monitor setup and would like to try out gaming on it spread across the 2 monitors, im using a gtx 580 but can not find any settings in the nvidia panel to enable such a setting. I remember doing this a while back on an ATI card and it was so easy to do

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks.

Hi there,

Unfortunately with Nvidia graphics cards "Nvidia Surround gaming" (running games across multiple monitors) only works with three monitors and two cards running in SLI - you can't run a game across only two monitors with Nvidia's system.

In contrast, running a game across two (or three) monitors off a single card modern AMD card is possible.

One option to achieve your aim would be to use some software that gives you the same outcome, for example I hear SoftTH may allows you to do this though, but it won't be as simple to setup as an AMD/Nvidia native system.

Hi

Thank you for the info i didnt realise this was not possible, i guess ill wait for the new graphics cards and maybe get another 580 if the prices drop a bit. Guess it would be better to get a 3 monitor setup going if this was the case :)

Even if it worked it wouldn't be very nice to have the bezels right down the middle, imagine games with a crosshair where half of it is on one monitor and the other half on the other monitor.

With some of the old beta drivers it was possible to get 2 monitors working with 2 cards (never tried with just 1), but for some reason they stopped supporting it - its not really that useable with the bezels bang in the middle anyhow imo. Those drivers are so old they don't work correctly with some newer games anyhow.
