Well just got my eyefinity set up and tried wow on there...

Was worried at first because of a little lag... but stormwind seems to be the new Dalaran, soon as i left perfect FPS of 60 - 100 on ultra high.

Its crazy when you move feels like your watching it in 3D... that said its only five min's playing... will see 2nite when i have a few hours session with beer :D

Any1 else playing 5670x1024 perminently or is it just a novelty thing that gets annoying?

i use eyefinity, don't play wow tho...

i find it far better than single monitor, and infact, unless the game simply doesn't work with EF, i find it very hard to use just the one display.

also i run at 6148x1200 :p

I play at this resolution all the time. I have 3*30" monitors but my overclocked 5970 can't handle 8300*1600 (or whatever it is).

Some games (I'm looking at you, Metro 2033) can't handle the resolution at all. Others try but really struggle (RUSE). Some games seem born for it (anything by codemasters, also batman arkham asylum, tf2 etc - in fact most FPS and driving games). Some refuse to work altogether (sc2 for example) Seems to depend on the graphics engine.

I'd say I play approximately 35% of my games on eyefinity.

It does look simply stunning.

Hey,

I tried eyefinity and hated it :( even more so with wow. was just plain wrong, look at a boar in front of you and then turn left or right, by the time it gets to the edge of the side screens its massive! really didnt like it.

I have been using Eyefinity at 5760x1080 permanently for over a year now. I couldn't go back to using just one or two monitors now. Playing games on only one monitor just seems wrong now.

I think it's high time "Borderless" monitors were put on mainstream offer. I've seen them in the past where they've been used for 6 screen trader desk setups but never seen one advertised on a common or garden hardware site.

Won't do Eyefinity until I can get rid of the side borders (perhaps they should make the sides of some models detachable/swappable to allow them to sit next to each other neatly.)

Agree borderless monitors will greatly enhance gaming experience and make eyefinity more attractive :).

I work on a 3 screen setup every day and can't tell you how annoying the bezels are, never mind the alignment! I prefer 1 big screen to 3; perhaps more affordable, larger (read: wider) screens will consign Eyefinity to the technical history books in the near future. :)

I do like the way you're "surrounded" by 3 screens, however - that effect would be difficult to achieve with a single screen. :)

I play at 4960x1600.
I either play in windowed mode & stretch the games that allow it across the 3 screens or use SoftHT as eyefinty does not do PLP.

Looks good, what monitors are they? Also what graphics card you using? Not sure on what graphics is required to play at a decent frame rate.

thanks

Just closed a deal for a 5870 on OCUK mm today, the specs of the card are apparently very similar to my current card ( 4870X2). ... except that the 5870 has eyefinity * big grin *

Reason for change? 3 Projectors, nuff said
They are 720p though, not 1080p.

Will report back with pics !

oh, talking of eyefinity is there a way to calculate the graphics card required for certain res's?

I ordered 3 21.5 inch benqs and ended up geting 2 21.5's and a 24". Dpd collected the 24" on the 23rd but as far as im aware its yet to arrive at ocuk. At the mo using 1 hp screen and the other 2 benqs, really enjoying eyefinity.
