Morning All,

I am looking to invest in a new desktop, aimed at gaming most of the latest titles.

First question before I get too involved…is £1000 a decent enough budget?

Are there any particular components to look at or avoid? Intel vs AMD?

I guess starting at a base level would be sufficient if it could lead to future upgrades as technology advances.

Thanks in advance

Yes I can install myself.

Happy with 1080p providing FPS is decent.
If you can stretch to £1100 then this would be a good choice with the options I've selected and would give you upgrade options.

Thanks a lot! Appreciate this.

What’s the main difference between Intel & AMD?

Imo

AMD offer longevity to the platform such as the system I reccomended, its AM5 which is new so there's plenty of future CPU upgrade options when released .

Intel has strong performance also but tend to use more power at the higher end and there at the end of life for there latest platform. You will be able to upgrade to a better CPU but not a newer version.

Just noticed this build takes approx 2 weeks, are you aware of anything similar that is currently in stock?
