Hey Guys,

I don't know much about PCs but I'm looking to massively upgrade, my budget is around £2000 - £2200. I will need a monitor included in this too. I've only had a Nvidia and Intel PC but I am open to any ideas posted.

It'll be used for gaming with ideally 2 SSD's

Any help is appreciated :)

What's your PC specs atm? What resolution do you wanna run 1080p/1440p? What sorta games do you play?

Why do you want 2 SSDs? Are you after a certain capacity of storage?

Do you need WiFi or can you wire PC to router for internet?

Are you happy to build the PC yourself? Or do you need it pre-built?

Pre built, Monitor resolution would be 1920 x 1080 and ideal size around 24 inch.

I mainly play World of Warcraft. I would need WiFi but currently wired to an extender and I've been told that if I have a separate SSD for wow in particular then it would load quicker and have other stuff on the other.

Ideal storage would be 2 TB to 3TB

Current:
Processor - i5-4670K 3.60ghz
RAM - 16GB 1060 MHz DDR3
Graphics - GTX 770
Storage 1 - 120GB Kingston SSD
Storage 2 - WD500 GB hard drive
Motherboard - MSI Z97-G43

I also have a thing for LED lights on case

You can spend half that for a good upgrade to play WoW lol. Or just over half to get a better system.

Even at £1.5-2k mark you could get a new monitor and be playing @ 1440p (2560x1440)

Also no issue using a single SSD drive, don’t need a 2nd one it won’t improve performance at all. Complete crap whoever told you that lol

Do you want a good 1080p rig (don’t need £2k) or you wanna go 1440p with a new display? (£1.5k+ Prob)

I would play more games when I get a new PC not just WoW if that is the case I'd go 1440p then, this is why I'm asking for advice because I have no knowledge on this.

I may also need 2 monitors as my other one is actually a TV.

Is there a possibility it could be 2 different builds just so I can see the difference on 1080 and 1440 please?

Don’t worry not being condescending (I’m not anyway :p) just identifying what your usage is and what you’re looking for. So can help you spend on the right parts or save money where you can :)

For dual monitors, did you want a decent 27” 1440p one to game on - then a different 2nd monitor for general bits like browsing, discord, YouTube etc? Or do you play on multiple accounts on both screens?

Haha I figured, I'm not used to trying to get an upgrade alone.

I think it would mainly be one to game on and one for general bits but I am considering on being able to play on both screens.

£630 of the cost goes on 2x decent 1440p monitors if gonna game on both lol. Imagine the curve would work well as dual monitors actually.

Definitely overkill for just WoW - but if your gonna play other games then this would run very well.

OcUK pre-built options are a bit meh. But you can post in the Customer Service sub forum on here. Copy/paste your basket and ask for a quote to build it for you. Usually they just charge around £80-100 I think to build.

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £1,964.70 (includes shipping: £0.00)

Depends if you need the storage for games, then get a bigger or 2nd SSD. Just don’t get another for the reason thinking it’ll perform better was my only thing for saying you don’t need another :p

If you need the extra for just documents photos videos downloads etc then a normal HDD will work better for that.

Not a problem ever getting more SSDs or HDDs. Just if you need the capacity and not thinking it’ll run games differently lol

+ whatever OCUK charge to build it, then yeah.

You can always buy a 2nd SSD/M.2 drive and fit it later. Rather than buy now, unless you know you’ll use more than 1TB pretty quickly :p

Haha it’s simple :p But well if you got the budget then go for it, should future proof you a good few years :)

You’ll need to get a Windows 10 key (£5-10 on popular auction site) and put on USB stick, then install to system when it arrives. Can you manage that yourself at least? It’s straight forward (put Windows on the 1TB drive, slightly faster)

Otherwise you’ll also have to add another £110 odd to pay OcUK for an extortionate W10 license to install when building it.

If I already have Windows 10 on this PC, is there a way to find the key or will I have to get another as I think it got installed on here before purchase

Windows 10 keys aren’t usually transferable onto new systems. Unless you bought a Retail key? But I doubt you did usually they’re OEM and one-time use.

I’d just get one for £5-10 on auction site, download and copy to USB... just plug into system when arrives, boot USB, install Windows really easy. Saves you £100.
