Hey Guys,

Wanting a new gaming pc and have a budget of £650 need everything base, monitor, mouse, keyboard. Can anyone help?!

Thanks

Would you be overclocking?
Do you need an OS? (I'd highly recommend you use the Windows 8.1 trial till you can save up another 90 for the OS)

<--- complete noob! Doubtful of overclocking my mate is building me the machine just said to ask about a spec on ere for my budget, i can prob get away with the monitor so £650 for base, mouse n keyboard.

I think my mates got a OS if not ill sort that seperate

You can get a 90 day trial of Windows 8, but you cannot activate this version once it has expired, you'll need to re-install what ever OS you decide to get.

This however, would free you up to purchase better components and 3 months to buy/save for the OS.

If you forget the monitor ;

That's pretty much the best I can see for a gaming and usage point of view.

There's always tweaks to lower the cost, such as getting the RAM that Doomed has spec'ed.
I didn't spec an optical drive as they're somewhat redundant now, nor a CPU cooler as the Intel one is quiet, and you're not overclocking (Although Doom's spec gives you the option, whereas mine just doesn't)

The AMD FX6300 is better than the i3 3220.

Although, in my rig I've put an i5 4430, if you can live without the Monitor, the i5 and 7950 is going to do some dirty things over an FX6300 with a 7850.

There is also the possibility of switching it up so the FX6300 gets paired with the 7950.

AMD fx-6300 all the way, intel is overrated and is over priced

Intel is always going to beat an AMD chip when comparing like for like. The ^^ is a personal opinion, not fact, like most consumables, you get what you pay for. Price = quality.

If you had access to the MM, I would recommend a Sandy-Bridge setup as the 2500k/2600k chips are going for £100-£115 and overclock incredibly well with a decent board and cooling. However, if you can find a second hand chip & board, you'd get a bargain.

The FX6300 is a great budget chip, but if you want pure performance and scalability, then Intel is the way forward.

The 6300 would be my choice over the i3.

Awful sweeping comment there.. (some context and actual intelligents points would be nice)

If you have the money for intel its the best choice..

If you haven't its not worth sacrificing GPU's and other bits to be able to afford it.

This is one of the specs i've got so far for a friend.

I am still not 100% on it as I have mentioned in the other thread. Only really because I would love to pop an 8350 in instead of the 8320....but it takes it over budget.
