Hi guys been looking at the forum recently and would really like some help.
I have never built a pc before but would really like to get started and build a gaming pc.

So here is what i have already
i use my tv 1080p for gaming on
I have already got a mouse and keyboard but nothing else?

so other than that i need everything else budget £800max

i currently play on my laptop but i cant play the games i would like i.e. battlefield 3, skyrim and probably guild wars 2.

I have read reviews and would like a 7950 of some sort and maybe an i5

any help is much appreciated:D

I'm also making making a gaming pc for the first time so my advise doesn't come with much experience.

For £800 you should be looking at intel i5's in the k range(the k range allows you to over clock whereas the standard i5s have limited or no over clocking ability). You should look at getting and SSD as your main harddrive. Don't skimp on a PSU especially since you will have a more power hungry build.

Other than that do a lot of research like I did to find out what components you should get. There are a lot of articles and youtube videos on building gaming PCs for certain budgets, use the components they suggest as a bench mark and adjust according what you want on your build.

yeah ive been looking for a while now but i cant seem to get the price below £800 maybe im being a bit to ambicious. the videos ive seen on youtube are usually from yanks so its difficult as it seems parts in america are cheaper.

Yea I had the problem with parts but it seems that on this site were a lot of good components for good prices. In the list Lazdar gave you try looking for them from different suppliers. You should be able to get that PC for under(just) £800.

Would get a much better PSU than the builder series. Also RAM wise the difference between 1600 and 2133 is negatable however the size does matter.

Do you have an OS to boot up if not i can suggest you get Linux/Ubuntu or even Windows 8 beta for free. You can install these os's via usb so you don't even need to waste money on a disk drive.

Again you want low profile RAM.
That 7950 is going to get loud seeing as its single fan.
If your getting an expensive PSU then you want it to be modular.
The retail CPU comes with heatsink, 3 years warranty and a box. The oem only has a 1 year warranty.

If you have couple case fans which you will connect to PSU, most of the cables would be used up anyway... unless its a top end PSU.
