Been swithering replacing my 4 year old desktop which is fine for the internet but struggles with just about anything else now from watching dvds to playing Football Manager, its just soo slow.

I first started looking just for something that would do browsing, video, photo editing and Office, and was looking at Mac Mini or iMac Options, however the cost of a decent spec iMac is around £1400 plus buying all my software again for Mac OS.

So I've been looking again at PC's as I really like the look of Windows 7 v Mac OS anyway.
I know that for even around £500 I could get a really good PC that would do all that an iMac would do but I got thinking about how good a pc £1200 would get me ;)

I would love to have a PC that is going to be a good gaming PC, my current one was ok for a while when I got it but its been sadly lacking power for 3 years now.

I'm just not too sure about what route to go down, Intel or AMD? ATI or NVIDIA?? Its so long since I've bought a PC that I'm not sure whats the best way to go anymore.

Would probably prefer self build but I don't mind buying built if its a good deal.

Thanks folks, all of those specs look amazing, I'm thinking I may be better spending less right now to build a spec that may not be the fastest I can get but something thats around £600 but leaves me able to upgrade the vital parts such the CPU and GPU later on, as long as I get a motherboard that is able to be upgraded for a few years then Id be more than happy if it was going to save me money right now.
