As title can someone give me a spec to suit my budget of £1k-£1.5K.

I would like to include at least a blu ray reader (for ripping) in the spec and would like soundcard, speakers, mouse and keyboard omitting since I have some Logitech Z10 speakers and will be using headphones for the majority of late night gaming sessions. I got a mouse I like and i'll look for a keyboard later.
It will be used for fps games and blu ray and I need a monitor also.
If I can get away with 1k to play all the latest stuff then thats good but I guess future wise it aint gonna last long so can perhaps stretch to 1.5K.

Thanks in advance.

Lol.

Why are you worried?

exactly? lol that's a brilliant setup for 1.5k
The P6T has been proved to be the best i7 motherboard for its OC ability at that price.

PSU - unsure, haven't looked at them personally

Screen - I have the same panel that's in that specific screen and its brilliant for the price. perhaps the IPS may be better but for FPS etc it suits me down to the ground, plus I don't use my pc for proper film viewing.

the P182 is a gorgeous case.

EDIT: the P6T has had a price drop!? wow, i7 is tempting :D

EDIT 2: if the case is an issue for you, can always change to the large 1200 or a coolermaster offering

The main thing that would concern me with that spec is the lack of a burner. I'd go for the sony BR reader and a cheap DL DVD-RW drive, that would also shave a few quid off the price and bring it down closer to £1500

The LG drive in my spec is the complete package.

It reads Blu-Ray, HD-DVD and it burns DVD, CD etc.

thanks for that icey_haj, anyone else got any opinions on a build. The things that worry me about the above are the Asus mobo, the case, the psu and the monitor.

Well i suppose I was looking at this bundle here since it would save some time with fettling the oc and allow my lazyiness to shine through. http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=FS-051-OE&groupid=701&catid=339&subcat=1393

I just didnt know if the psu was powerful enough or doesnt that matter so much since i aint gonna be using an nvidia sli setup?

Airflow and dustfilters in the case, good enough?

Monitor, just didnt know if i should go for 1920 x1080 rather than 1200.
