Hi All...

I am looking to buy a gaming PC and have a budget of £1000. I don't need keyboard/mouse/monitor/speakers etc so the £1000 is just for the base unit itself.

So looking for a system that has legs as I won't be swapping this out for a while other than perhaps updating the graphics card in a couple of years.

Only must have I guess is Wi-Fi...it can't be wired where it will be going.

Cheers!

Would be better to go for a powerline network rather than wireless. It's 2 plugs. One plugs in to a power socket by your modem and plugs in to your modem with an Ethernet cable. The other goes in to a plug socket near you PC and plugs in to to your PC with an Ethernet cable. It sends connection through the electrical cables in your house.
Much better connection and reliability than wireless. For online gaming, wireless is the devil.

BPL (broadband over power line) is a lesser devil to wireless. It may not even work if your home is wired in a way that is not conducive to its proper function. You can't do better than running a nice quality CAT6 ethernet cable from your router directly to the machine. I've got a 60 foot run and am soon adding a 50 foot run to another room. This is a wifi-free home, except where absolutely necessary (iphone/ipad).

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £1,014.87
(includes shipping: £0.00)

A hair over budget with the weefee card :P +1 to the run a cable if you can for gaming, wifi works great right up to the moment it doesn't and if that moment is during an overwatch game its enough to make you start throwing things :P

Edit, remembered that this graphics card comes with a free power supply and is better than the one I had.
