Hi all,

been given the greenlights from the wife to to get myself a new Gaming PC.

Few things up front. I want the PC to be quiet and whilst I never had a water cooled PC I definitely want this one to be water cooled.

I love the NZXT H440. And obviously I would want a 980ti but not totally sure yet which one. G1 gaming or superjet stream?

X99 vs Skylake?

Windows 10 is a given as well.

Looks are important as well, I dislike the red/black colour combination, much keener on blue/black/white.

Looking for some advice from the experts here.

Or heres one ready to go - https://www.overclockers.co.uk/tita...-i7-5820k-4.4ghz-gtx-980ti-6gb-fs-146-og.html - just add the OS from the options.

NZXT440 and custom water cooled.

So I had a look at the pre-built Titan but ended up wanting to make so many changes that I just kind of started from scratch:

I tried adding water-cooling to the above but was not sure which one I should pick that would allow for custom coloured liquid. I do not like the Sun/Orange coloured in the Titan, I'd prefer a white or Ice blue.

Am I missing anything crucial in the above?
Also, the pendrive allows me to install Windows 10 from that USB, correct? It is not meant to boot Windows 10 with it?

Really want to order this ASAP as the wife will be gone with the kids for a while next week and it would give me time and peace to setup, install, transfer stuff from my old PC etc. :D

So any feedback/input/criticism regarding the above would be very much appreciated.

Yes, you can install/repair Windows from the pen drive. No need to have it plugged in to boot later on.

X99 has quad channel memory, so you could go for 4x4GB sticks to make use of them.

There is something wrong with the price, unless the This Week Only deals have not refreshed on my end. It shows them as reduced to £59.99 but when I add to basket it's the old price of £89.99. Maybe ask OcUK about this.

The rest looks fine and the H100i v2 is a good cooler. But maybe I would go with the Antec H1200 which is also quality, cheaper and comes with two blue led fans to match your build.

As for custom-coloured liquid I think the only AIO that allows for that at present is the Raijintek Triton which has mixed reviews and gives me the impression it's more of a gamble than going with Corsair, NZXT, Antec, Silverstone, CoolerMaster etc AIO's. Then again, if OcUK is building it for you, you're completely covered for three years.

This 980Ti seems to be the same price as the MSI Gaming, and comes with RGB leds on the fans, if you want even more blue (or something else):

Call our sales team they can set this up for you.

Asetek AIO is the best AIO option for me. No bells and whistles though but working great. Add Silverstone water cooling fans and your in. For that CPU 240+ is the option to go with.

Cheers 8pack! Will look into the Asetek AIO and Silverstone Fans. Mailed Damo but was told in chat today that they are super busy.

It arrived today...in probably the biggest box I have ever received (furniture aside) haha.

Everything was perfectly packed. The only problems I had was with the Username being set up incorrectly somehow. Also for whatever reason, when I install Avast (which runs fine on any of my other Windows 10 devices) I end up in a repair loop when I reboot, so installing it is a no no. Took me a while to figure it out.

Currently installing all my things, need to figure out a way to sell my old PC now as well!

Also, I could swear that once during bootup I saw a message saying "Overlock Failed". What is the best way to see if the CPU is overclocked still and the BIOS did not revert to some kind of default?

Install CPU-Z from CPUID.

Start running the benchmark from the Benchmark tab and quickly return to the CPU tab to watch the Core Speed/Multiplier value.

Also check the Memory tab for DRAM Frequency and multiply it by 2 to know what you're getting.

Ok, went up to 3300 Mhz with a x33 multiplier.

I suppose that means it is overclocked then?

No, that is the default speed for that processor. But if you didn't ask them to set an overclock for you, then it's fine.

The "overclocking failed" message might be to do with the memory frequency, which I also asked you to check. Is the frequency reported (when doubled) the same as the frequency of the memory you ordered?
